Please make sure to complete the following work in order to be prepared for Friday and Monday's writing exercise:
1) Complete your TPCASTT for both poems, "The Swan" and "The Panther". (Due 09/04/2014)
2) Think about which poem you feel comfortable writing about for Friday's outlining process and for Monday's in class writing practice. (Due 09/05-08/2014)
3) You should begin thinking of a thesis statement, or main idea, you would like to prove for the exercise
4) You can begin your rough draft outline to be prepared to contribute to Friday's discussion and outlining practices
5) On Monday 09/08 in class timed writing practices. You will write about Rilke's poems, "The Swan" or "The Panther" analyzing your understanding of both the literal and figurative meaning of the poems as well as identifying how Rilke's use of poetic literary devices ( diction, allusion, symbolism, simile, metaphor, anaphora...) amplify your understanding of the poem.
