9th Literature Day Five-Six

Day Five-Six 09/03-04/2014 Block Schedule Wednesday and Thursday

Learning Objective: Today we will review new vocabulary, review literary terms, and discuss the meaning of Jackson’s short story, “The Lottery” and will be able to identify the themes and literary devices in the story.  .
 
  C: Bell Ringer, Short Story Vocabulary, Literary Terms, Final Discussion of themes in Jackson’s short story.

  H: Get Disclosure signed by Parent and Student(Due: Wednesday August 27, 2014), Writing Assignment: In a well written short answer explain in what ways a particular problem from the story is prevalent in our own society and how do we  make a difference or change this problem?


Bell Ringer:
         Question: Utilizing a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence, please write a well written response about what it would be like to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of your community or society. Would you be willing to sacrifice a loved one? Explain what you would do.
